Ben was a World War II Veteran who had virtually grown up at Vandsco Poster Company He started in the production department where he saw the artwork everyday that was sent in from advertising agencies all over the country. His had an eye for recognizing the difference between good and bad work, and in his spare time he started trying to make pastel drawings using this knowledge. His use of color was subtle and his design was exquisite.
