Antique very large saddle-shaped ring from Tibet.
The ring is made of high grade solid silver (800) and it's decorated with very fine engravings and with one raised and embedded coral bead on the center of the front.
The front side of the ring measures 1.5 X 1.5 inch and the Coral bead is 0.62 X 0.62 inch
The US size of this ring is more than 15, and the inner diameter is approximately 0.98 inch (25 mm) the ring is slightly adjustable in size.
Provenance: Tibet.

The muzzle of the rifle was placed in a ( carbine socket or boot ) scabbard. The idea behind using the saddle ring, and its carbine sling, is to allow the mounted soldier to never be separated from his weapon.
