Antique blouse from France, 1910s-1920s.
Made of cotton dobby fabric with a dot weave.
The slightly glossy fabric makes the polka dots appear and disappear depending on the angle of the light, which is very beautiful.
Hand embroidery is applied to the collar, placket, and cuffs on flat cotton fabric.
Tiny, three-dimensional small flowers are scattered and scalloped embroidery edges.
This is a beautiful piece filled with careful handwork in the places that show.
