A huge influence on the development of hip-hop culture in the U.S. and one of the originators of break beat DJing, Afrika Bambaataa is respectfully known as the father of electro-funk. One track in particular, “Planet Rock,” spawned an entire genre of "electro-boogie" rap and dance music that is still vibrant today.
