Noise cancellation becomes more transparent (in a good way) — silence when you want it, clear ambient sound when you need awareness, perhaps more adaptively.

Health tracking is more built-in: you might get subtle metrics like your heart rate during listening, maybe even temperature or some biometrics from the ear canal.

Gesture control lets you do small controls by moving your hand or finger near the AirPod (without touching it). For example, wave to pause/play, adjust volume with air swipe, etc.

Interaction with translation: immediate conversion of speech around you, possibly even conversations where the AirPods help translate in real time.

Better battery life (hopefully) or more efficient use of battery, especially when using ANC or those additional sensors/cameras — though adding sensors often adds battery demands.
