This is a wonderfully crafted locket made of brass, attached to the top is the original chain. Circa 1885
The locket from the bottom to the top of the baile is about 3 inches (Please see photos for all size references) and the chain (Necklace) is 16 inches long
At some point it looks as if the small catch (Lock) had been replaced, all pieces have beautiful damaskeening (Engraving work) which was a typical form of design and embelishment of that period
The right side has a full (I believe original) piece of clear celluloid with which to cover a photo of a loved one etc, this is missing from the left side however a substitute may be easily inserted
As far as I can see there has not been any other work done on this item.
