Exquisite sterling silver Bell Trading Post signed turquoise ring. The center stone is oval shaped and bezel set. The surrounding design is beaded and scalloped. The shank is split and hand carved with light milgrain. Marked as 925 and tested positive as such. The ring is gorgeous and handmade.
The history of “Bell Trading Post Inc” began at the height of the Great Depression in 1932 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its founders, Jack Michelson and his wife, Mildred, hired only Native Americans, famous for their craftsmanship in silver and turquoise jewelry. All jewelry was made by Native Americans, jobs were provided when the depression was ocurring which helped the local economy and wellfare of Native Americans.
