Vintage Seneca NoSlip split-back contact printing frame. This device was used in early 20th century photography to hold a negative and photographic paper securely together during the printing process.
Allowing part of the back to be opened, able to check exposure progress without shifting the paper or negative.
Made of wood with brass fittings, which with rich patina. On the back, a numbered scale (0 through 12) with a pointer, used for setting exposure times or tracking progress.
States patent "JULY 19. 81" (July 19, 1881). Measures 9x11x1.5”
