I've recently been researching this piece to see if I could verify the origins. This beautiful D&E Christmas brooch has been confirmed through a London based seller that it was made by D&E for Harrods in the 1960s. Since it was made for just the one store that would explain the limited quantity available and the lack of awareness of the piece.
