Picture Sandstone - A Geological Phenomenon
This sandscape is a product of nature, cut from a piece of picture
sandstone which was formed in the southwestern United States more
than 75 million years ago. At that time, the deserts of the southwest
were covered by a great inland sea, which began to drain when the
western mountain ranges began to rise. As the water receded, rich
sand deposits dripping with minerals were left behind and over the millions of years naturally formed this rare picture rock from western America. Unaltered by man in any way except to be cut into slabs, the markings and irregularities are natures own and assures you of genuine picture sandstone. As the stone is cut, the pictures constantly change
making each Desert Sandscapes unique
