Early WWII 1942 named mess kit with utensils. This is a nice well used kit named three times. The one name I was able to find was that of Rolf Dallmer, who joined up in 1927 and served in the Cavalry until 1938 at the rank of 1st Sgt. From 1938 to 1941 in the FA where he was commissioned as a CAPT. Not sure what he did during the war but he reached the rank of Colonel before retiring. He is buried at Arlington. He was with the 71st FA in 1940. May be able to trace the 1st Sgt down as well by looking more into to. Comes with all three utensils as you see in the pictures. Would be a nice early WWII piece for any collection.
