The model can reach an impressive altitude of up to 700 ft. when powered by Estes engines (sold separately). This comprehensive kit includes laser-cut balsa fins, a blow-molded nose cone with printed details, an injection-molded tail cone, an 18-millimeter screw-on engine retainer, waterslide decals, and a Blue Origin–style 15-inch parachute.Perfect for families, friends, space enthusiasts, or aspiring rocketeers, the Blue Origin New Shepard kit offers hands-on experience in engineering and aerospace. It is especially ideal for helping kids explore the wondrous world of science and develop a better understanding of how rockets reach outer space. After an estimated assembly time of 1 hour (not including glue- and paint-drying time), the New Shepard rocket will be ready for proud display or launch prep.To build and launch this rocket, you will need masking primer tape, a pencil, a ruler, yellow glue, a hobby knife, medium CA glue, wax paper, scissors, clear coat (optional), paint (white), fine sandpaper, a sand block, a compatible Estes model-rocket engine, starters, recovery wadding, and a compatible Estes launch-pad system. It’s also compatible with Estes B4-4 and B6-4 rocket engines. Display this historic model in your home or launch it on an Estes rocket-launcher pad (sold separately).
