Based on a traditional shape—a smaller base with a wider top—the Girasol Large Vase is inspired by architectural constructivism which highlights materials and construction. In this vase, delicate strips of Blanc de Chine porcelain have been seamed together in a way which emphasizes its hand-made qualities. Produced by craftsmen descended from the same ones which created masterpieces for the imperial court, the Girasol combines very old traditions with contemporary aesthetics. It has a glossy interior finish and a matte exterior.
