Hercules and Lichas Statue.
Lichas was Hercules' manservant. Deianira, Hercules' wife, was a very jealous woman & asked Lichas to take a poisoned cloak to Hercules. The poison was supposed to make Hercules a faithful husband. Instead, the poison drove him mad & tragically flung his servant Lichas into the Aegean Sea.
It is now believed that the Lichadian islands, between Euboea & the coast of Locris, got their name from Lichas.
