Hoya (HONEYPOT) is a genus of over 500 species of plants in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. They are also known as wax plants because of their waxy leaves. Hoyas are evergreen perennials native to the tropics of Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. They are characterized by their fragrant, star-shaped flowers, and trailing growth habit. Hoyas are semi-succulent plants that grow epiphytically on trees or rocky areas and are generally shaded from being in full sun.
