It was hardly used, and I left it plugged in for many years, so the battery went bad. When I tried to replace the battery, I cracked the screen(^^)
The battery should be at 100% now.
I also bought a case that hides the crack.
I've tested the memo app by swiping my finger across the entire screen, and there are no issues with writing.
No screen protector is applied.
