• MacuShield Gold provides a MacuShield® Original formulation with additional vitamins and minerals.
• Scientific research shows that the three nutrients; meso-zeaxanthin, lutein and zeaxanthin are found at the back of the eye, at the macula, where they form the macular pigment (yellow colour).
• Meso-zeaxanthin is particularly concentrated at the centre of this pigment.
• Lutein and zeaxanthin can be found in fruits and vegetables and meso-zeaxanthin is present in some species of fish and seafood.
• The macular carotenoids in MacuShield® Gold are obtained from marigolds (Tagetes Erecta), specifically grown for this purpose.
• MacuShield® Gold combines these three macular carotenoids in a formula containing meso-zeaxanthin, zinc to help maintain normal vision, copper, vitamin C and vitamin E, which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
