Solid metal with hadles to carry it. Latches close nicely so can lock. Dented on top maybe from putting weight on it. Can be hammered out possibly but looks cool to me. Lid opens and closes smoothly/flush. Shipping labe still on back from when appears to be 1958 from the US Air Force.
