He began photography Native Americans in the mid 1890s in 1986 wh approached J.P. Morgan requested financial assistance for his project. Morgan agreed to pay him a total of 75,000 or 15,000 a year for 5 years. They decided that Curtis master work the North America Indian was well worth it. And that there would be a set of 20.
