Nature Engraving Long Tailed Bird C.1840

This is an authentic antique engraving published by naturalist Sir Wm Jardine between 1833-43. The hand colored "Polyplectron" was originally published in the Ornithology volumes of "The Naturalist's Library". The print measures 6 3/8 in. x 4 in. without the mat. Included is the original description of the illustrated species published along with the print. You can find other Jardine's for sale, but not with the description page(s) attached. This print is in excellent condition with no tears, folds, or stains; there is minor edge foxing. (Note from Davis Galleries erroneously refers to the print as a lithograph.) The mat is optional and measures 10 inches x 12 1/4 inches with a gold line surrounding the opening. To purchase the mat for $10. (covers the mat and the extra shipping), just msg me.
