I intended to use these in conjunction with a closed-back pair, but they've become unnecessary since I'm getting studio monitors.
I auditioned these at a headphone specialty store and was impressed by the wide soundstage and clear imaging. The balance across all frequency ranges is excellent, and they have the extended high-mids and highs characteristic of open-back headphones.
