Each piece is hand-dyed in Kyoto, Japan by artisans who have developed a deep black dyeing method over four generations. This natural oxide finish uses various stages of bottoming, including madder, indigo, tea leaves and bark, to achieve a richer tone of black, while remaining colourfast in the sun and rain.
