VERY RARE shakers featuring the iconic Shmoo from the Al Capp series Li'l Abner, produced in the 1950s in Japan. This is a male and female Shmoo even though Shmoos were normally gender-neutral.
Mr Shmoo is 4 Inches tall and 2 1/2 Inches wide and Mrs Shmoo is 3 3/4 Inches tall by 2 1/2 Inches wide. VERY well made. Both figures are without corks stoppers however have original number 8294 on bottoms and all color is under the glaze.
The happy couple of Shmoos are in very good, clean condition. Mr. Shmoo shows up with no cracks, chips or repairs. Any other Mrs Shmoos I have seen in my research have no red in the over-the-glaze paint on heart-shaped design on front. But our Mrs has only a TINY line of loss and one small chip on her green bow, which isn’t even noticeable.
They are in excellent vintage condition considering the age.
