After seeing all the varieties of Opal out there I have to say there is something that really stands out about the Opal from Mexico. It is different. The reason why its different is because of the addition of melted Rutile inclusions. Rutile has a very high refractive index meaning that it is highly reflective to any light source. This gives the opal its unique play of color and almost holographic flash of color as seen when backlit when displaying its contra luz feature. This is the last contra luz opal out of the 8 that I had and is the nicest of the lot.
