nature+nurture living presents The Fly Guy's Fly Tying 101 with Darrell Booher.

Week 1:

You will learn the different types of flies for trout, bass and pan fish fishing and basic tying skills. During this session you will tie 3 flies used for trout. You will learn thread types, hooks and materials. Types of tools used to tie flys will be explored and how to use them along with the different materials for the flies you will tie.

Week 2:

Continuation of week 1 you will learn how to tie terrestrials and hoppers for both trout and bass fishing. You will explore how to tie hair flies and use foam to tie bugs. 2-3 flies will be tied in this week.

Week 3:

You will learn how to stack hair for different flies and shaping that into a fishable bug. This section will show you how to tie articulated flies and explain how useful this type is to fish with. 2-3 flies will be tied if time allows.

At the end of this 3-week class you should be able to do basic trout and bass flies for your fishing pleasure.
