Topazolite is a rare, yellowish variety of andradite garnet that is named for its visual similarity to topaz, although they are chemically unrelated. It is valued by collectors for its attractive, glossy, translucent-to-transparent dodecahedral crystals, which are hard enough to be cut into small faceted gems. Its yellow to brownish-yellow color can be a beautiful, gemmy shade, with some crystals exhibiting an attractive green tint
