Troy Butec OTM Pain Relief for Cattle & Sheep

Butec OTM Pain Relief for Cattle and Sheep is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the alleviation of pain associated with routine husbandry procedures in cattle and sheep. Butec gives simple, safe & sustained pain relief in lambs & calves.

Active Ingredient: 10mg/mL Meloxicam

Features & Benefits:

• Cost effective aid in alleviating pain & inflammation associated with routine husbandry procedures.
• Cattle: Disbudding (or dehorning) and castration in calves. It is recommended Butec is used in combination with a cornual nerve block and local anaesthetic at the surgical site to enhance pain relief and minimise tissue damage and distress.
• Sheep: Castration, tail docking and mulesing of lambs.
• Simply apply blue gel between the molar teeth and inside of the cheek.
• Safe delivery with no needles.
• Long lasting pain relief
• Use for up to 6 months after opening
• Developed and made in Australia in association with CSIRO, MLA and AWI

Restraints:
 DO NOT USE in lactating or pregnant cows where milk may be used or processed for human consumption.

Retreatment Interval:
Cattle: DO NOT re-treat animals for 21 days after treatment.
Sheep: This product is indicated for a SINGLE administration at the recommended dose rate.

Contraindications:
Contraindicated for use in animals suffering from haemorrhagic gastrointestinal disorders, impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function and haemorrhagic disorders, or where there is evidence of individual hypersensitivity to the product.
This product is contraindicated for concurrent administration with glucocorticosteroids, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or with anti-coagulant agents.

Withholding Periods:
Meat: Cattle: 14 days, Sheep: 10 days.
Milk: Do not use in lactating ewes or pregnant ewes within 10 days of lambing where milk may be used or processed for human consumption.

TRADE ADVICE – Export Slaughter Interval (ESI): Cattle: 21 days, Sheep: 10 days.

NOTE: Butec OTM is not designed to be dosed like a worming drench. although dosing as a drench is not a toxicity concern, the efficacy of the product is likely to be affected reducing the desired pain relieving effect in the treated calf.
