Victorian etched flower hinged antique sterling silver match card safe red button. This unique small case is slightly larger than a match safe and slightly smaller than a cigarette case. This may have been used for cards or for matches or small cigarettes. Stamped sterling on the inside of the case. The top is hinged and it folds over and snaps easily shut. There are two curved holders on the inside that are slightly rounded which may have helped to hold cigarettes. Good condition with small signs of wear. There are some small nicks and dents in the silver especially on the back side of the case. See pictures for complete condition. Small button in the center of the flower is a beautiful piece of deep red glass. Etched with a Monogram on the front center.
Acid tests positive for sterling silver.
Case measures 2 and 3/8ths of an inch tall and 1 and 3/4ths of an inch wide.
