Vintage Stratton powder compact, featuring a striking red and black faux tortoiseshell or "lava" enamel design on a gold-tone, scalloped frame, complete with its original presentation box and felt pouch.
Stratton compacts were manufactured in Birmingham, England, by a company that began assembling compacts in the 1920s and started producing its own components in the 1930s.
This specific compact has a distinctive red and black abstract design, often referred to as faux tortoise or lava design, and scalloped shape. It comes in a black and gold box and a protective black pouch.
